This cabochon is probably a Jasper of some kind. The photo exaggerates the specks in the cab's surface; these may be Hematite, but they are less obvious in person. Steve at Bitter Brook Cabochons cut this cabochon; one of my favorite customers saw this cab on Steve's web site and asked me to wrap it for her.
